On November 15th, 2020 while on patrol, Senior Police Officer Hunt responded to a medical call in reference to an unconscious person at the Blowing Rock Inn. SPO Hunt arrived and found a male patient lying on the ground. SPO Hunt immediately recognized that the man was in serious distress and consistent with his training, began CPR. SPO Hunt continued CPR until medics arrived on scene and took over care of the patient. Two Watauga County medics who responded to the incident, expressed their gratitude to SPO Hunt for his efforts. Paramedic Jesse Wagner stated that “thanks to SPO Hunt’s quick response and amazing CPR, they found a patient that was viable and able to be saved”. Paramedic Jerry Reedy said “Officer Hunt definitely saved the patients life”. The patient, a visitor to Blowing Rock, spent several weeks recovering in the hospital but has since been released.The Blowing Rock Police Department would like to commend Senior Police Officer Hunt for a job well done and thank him for his service to our community!!
